Cleaning Microfiber
The great benefit of microfiber
is its durable, stain-resistant quality.
However, spills, pets, and life can leave it looking less than
beautiful. To keep your soft,
comfortable furniture looking its best, try out these great cleaning tips:
Remote dust and loose
debris: Vacuum entire piece of
furniture, including the spaces between cushions. For crusty spills, scrub with a clean, dry
brush.
Isopropyl (or rubbing)
alcohol is recommended for most microfiber.
You should always check manufacturer’s instructions or cleaning code of
your specific furniture. (W= water-based
cleaning solvent, S=water-free solvent, S/W= either, X=neither, or vacuum
only.) Using a water free solvent,
either dry or clear alcohol based, will avoid leaving damaging water marks,
because water takes too long to evaporate properly. After checking the cleaning code, be sure to
do a test spot with your chosen cleaner in a low-visibility area first
Lightly spray the soiled
sections of microfiber with solvent and scrub with a dry, white sponge or
cloth. White is recommended because a
colored sponge or cloth may rub off onto your furniture.
After treating all of
the soiled areas, let dry. The fabric
may appear crusty still after cleaning, go back over it with a clean dry brush
and your microfiber should look and feel more like new!
